Only about a month late...here are some highlights of the DuQuoin State Fair.
(Sorry about the weird photo-cutline match-ups. I couldn't figure it out, hopefully you can make some sense of it.)

SATURDAY August 26, 2006 - Nate Ragland, age 2, of Sesser, IL, carries a bucket of "horse feed" around the stage at the Cutest Little Farmer contest in the Exhibition Hall at the DuQuoin State Fair. Ragland won the overall cutest farmer in the boys division and it was his first time in the contest. Keli Billingsley ~ Daily Egyptian

SUNDAY August 27, 2006 - Les Kimes, of Branson, MO, introduces a piglet named Rico to the crowd after feeding him from a bottle Sunday afternoon during Cuzzin Grumpy's Pork Chop Revue at the DuQuoin State Fair. Kimes and his family have been performing for generations, but this year is their first time performing at the the DuQuoin State Fair. Keli Billingsley ~ Daily Egyptian



SATURDAY August 26, 2006 - Ryan Kinney, age 17 of Fairfield, IL, prepares his angus heifer for show by trimming the hairs on her legs before using a spray adhesive to hold them in place Saturday morning in the livestock area at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. Keli Billingsley ~ Daily Egyptian

SATURDAY August, 26, 2006 - Lori Meyers, of Milwaukee, WI, holds up an american flag and a sign asking for applause Saturday morning as she explains to the audience that all of the Kitchen Craft products she is selling are made in the USA. Meyers has been doing Cook for Life with Kitchen Craft shows at the DuQuoin State Fair for 3 years. Keli Billingsley ~ Daily Egyptian


SATURDAY August 26, 2006 - Susan McCarty, of Benton, IL, looks at the herbs displayed in the Exhibition Hall Saturday afternoon. McCarty said that she comes to the fair for the Exhibition Hall so she can see all the prize winners. Keli Billingsley ~ Daily Egyptian

SUNDAY August 27, 2006 - Kerisha Lannom, 9, of Dongola, IL, attempts to climb Blackbeard's Ladder Sunday evening at the DuQuoin State Fair's Midway. Lannom said it was her first time at the fair. Keli Billingsley ~ Daily Egyptian
