Today is baby B's official due date.
It still doesn't seem like anything is happening. Um, contractions are supposed to hurt, right? Because I don't feel much of anything. Perhaps I've made it too comfortable in there for baby! My doctor assures me it could be any day now. I do have an appointment on Wednesday, February 6. If I don't go into labor before then, my doctor will schedule for me to be induced later that week. While I sure hope to have this baby sooner, I suppose it's good to know that we'll have our baby by next weekend. God willing, of course.
*and yes. in case you were wondering, my countdown image is from that iconic smashing pumpkins t-shirt. does anyone else remember how cool those were? ah, the mid-to-late 90's american alt-rock scene. gotta love it.

I totally wanted one of those shirts! I had another shirt that was less awesome. It was black with a silver vampiric smiley face image on the front.

Since it might still be a few days, I am officially rooting for the 8th! (My birthday, of course) I know that everyone wants their friends' babies to be born on their birthdays, but I think Baby B should really make this happen. Not to mention, he/she would also be sharing a birthday with Chase's twin siblings, Gary Coleman, John Williams and James Dean! I know that's really important.
I just listened to that Smashing Pumpkins album yesterday! Well, the pink disc.
I used to love that album. If I heard it now I would probably still like it. There are tons of good songs on those 2 discs.
Keli, the contractions and labor are not always painful. In fact, 46 years ago tomorrow I gave birth to our first daughter in the car on the way to the hospital because I really didn't feel that much pain. Mr. Dave's '56 Chevrolet was never the same, even after much cleaning.
Just relax, your baby will come when he or she is ready. I know that's hard to do right now when everyone's anxious. You'll be fine!!
i was thinking baby b was due by now...i'm guessing boy, but we shall see...should be any day now!!! praying for you and SOOO very excited for you!!
...and just to make myself sound like a total nerd, i know who the smashing pupmkins are, but ive never actually listened to them. if you'd like, i can invite you to the planet i was living on in the 90's:)
